What do our Customers Say?
The Buzz Restaurant is among the top 10 places to be in Ottawa on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. See for yourself!
Am I ever glad I chose this place!
I recently helped organize a 50th birthday dinner for a friend of mine. Initially, I found it nearly impossible to reserve for a large group at any restaurant in the city, especially on a Saturday evening. If there was any room at all, many venues demanded an exorbitant minimum fee. I settled on The Buzz and am I ever glad I did!! The staff really looked after us from the set-up of tables to the serving of a cake at the end. The food was excellent and the service was friendly, attentive and professional!! Chris, our server, ensured that the evening was a resounding success. I highly recommend The Buzz for a large group — and it is very central with lots of parking in the neighbourhood. I won't even look anywhere else in future if I am faced with organizing a similar large-group function.
Excellent service, excellent food and amazing ambiance.
Bring your own wine on Tuesday was definitely a plus! Steaks cooked to perfection. Two of our friends couldn't pick between regular fries and sweet potato fries, so they both got half orders of each! Not every kitchen would bother with small details like this..
We will definitely be going back.
My friends and I have made The Buzz one of our favourite go-to local spots. The ambience is cozy and lovely, and food is consistent . . . Our usual visits are for $5 martini Wednesday or for brunch, and the staff are welcoming, helpful, and awesome, which is a rare combination to find in a restaurant these days. One server even knows our order before we even sit down (okay, we do go there a lot...)!
Decided to try The Buzz tonight for the first time and I'm glad I did. Our waiter was really wonderful! He had a great sense of humour and was very attentive and good at helping me decide what to pick from the menu and what wine to have with my meal. The ambience was very nice as well! I ordered the steak frites. The sweet potato fries were delicious, as were the grilled vegetables. . . For dessert I had the Rolo cheesecake, which was really delicious. It was so rich that I couldn't quite finish it! My friend had the veggie burger and he really enjoyed it. All in all, it was a really fun evening out. :)
We were 4 people for breakfast. Food and service was excellent. The place was surprisingly clean. Off the menu we had crepes, . . .eggs benedict, egg in a bowl, and ultimate grilled cheese. Highly recommend this restaurant. Other was also other interesting choices like steak Benedict. We will be going back for breakfast and evening diner.
The soups are always awesome, and the food is delicious and offers great value. The specials change regularly, so switching it up is easy. The Buzz has many special nights, BYOW, Martini Wednesdays, Mojito Thursdays, there's always a reason to go back. The staff are fantastic, and always treat me like family. I've been going to this place for years and don't see that changing anytime soon. Great Job guys!
First off: great service. Went with a larger group (8 people), and had to make several changes to the reservation. They were very accommodating and were extremely professional.
The service staff was excellent and were very attentive.
The food was exceptional. Calamari apps were fantastic. Steaks were cooked perfectly and beef was superb. The tuna was amazing.
Will definitely return.
I was impressed with the service here. I went midweek with friends. Very nice little space with low lighting, perfect for a classy first date. They have a great $5 Martini special on Wednesday nights. Must try the The Buzz martini. . .
Service was super fast and nice.
The portion was average and had a simple, clean presentation.
I was surprised the price was very cheap!
will come back soon.
Food, drinks and servers are phenomenal!
Love this place! Food, service and atmosphere is always amazing!
Visited The Buzz on Friday, April 25 for a birthday dinner with a party of 7. Reservations were made only the day before and I received a prompt reply via e-mail when I made my inquiry; great start to my experience! Everything from the ambiance, to the service, to the food was absolutely fabulous about this restaurant. Our server was so attentive and easy-going with our group, even bringing the table a round of birthday shots on the house. Additionally, even though it wasn't on the menu, I was able to have a litre of white sangria made for my friend and I without any issue and we never even had to touch the bottle to refill our glasses the entire night (no joke!) because the server was so attentive refilling everyone's drinks and water glasses. The food was especially delicious and my filet mignon was the absolute best I've ever tasted (and this place isn't even a "steakhouse"!). I could go on raving about this wonderful little find, but I totally recommend checking it out and experiencing it first hand!
After one of our favourite mainstays nearby was filled to the brim, partner and I came across this place tucked in a row on Bank St, and are we ever glad we did.
We have been back a couple times since with friends, and every time the experience has been outstanding. The food is delicious and their menu is very eclectic - kitchen is even incredibly flexible for people with dietary problems (good friend has gluten allergy) which impressed us provided the higher-end nature of the restaurant.
The service, though, is really what makes this place so special. The staff are always super friendly and it is evident that they all take great pride over the establishment. On our first visit, our server (whose name escapes me, but he is a very tall East Coaster) was attentive, funny, and made all the right menu suggestions. I tried the chef's curry dish and it was absolutely to die for. Everything we have tried has been delicious. On other visits we have had other servers as well and they were equally as knowledgeable and professional.
The atmosphere is great, the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, and the servers are top-notch. We came across it by accident but it has quickly become our new favourite spot!

This is a great little pace in downtown Ottawa that was recommended to us by our Ottawa Walking Tours guide! We went for brunch on Sunday morning and it was delicious! I had the savoury special of ham and brie with pears and my husband had the sweet option. French toast stuffed with banas and coconut. It was all to die for! Simply great and the service was prompt and very friendly. A great spot for brunch and we will return to try the dinner menu next time we are in Ottawa.
I rarely take the time to write online reviews, but I recently discovered this lovely spot and it has quickly become a favourite.
My father and I like to go out for dinner on Sunday evenings, and we were intrigued by the BYOW feature the restaurant offers on that night. The food is really good (my favourite is the chicken curry), but the service is really the home run here. Our server (Chris) is so friendly, attentive, and knowledgable about the menu, and carries on with my father hilariously. Rarely do I see my dad meet his match when it comes to wit! On just our second visit, he remembered us and our exact table from the previous visit - this calibre of service you just don't find often anymore. You can tell that he and his colleague Ben genuinely enjoy working with one another, which makes for an inviting guest experience.
All in all, the ambience, food, and service have made this place one of my favourite new spots. I trust that you will be as impressed as us if you decide to give it a try.
The restaurant is small but it has a pleasant atmosphere and tasteful decor. The service is very good and the food is great. They offer different specials on some weekdays. If you want to taste a great curry with unusual taste, try Varutharacha Chicken Curry - it's simply divine.
Where to start.... Service.... Perfect..... Martini..... Perfect.... Tuna nachos ..... Best I have ever had... If you are a tourist and want a very good restaurant in Ottawa go to The Buzz. The price is ok. Bank street reveal very good restaurants. The only thing negative that I can say is that the wine list is short.
The food is always excellent, very fresh and they are able to accommodate for a wheat-gluten allergy. By far the best food I have had since discovering my food allergy. The food is excellent in taste, presentation and quality. You can tell that they use only fresh ingredients. Everyone that I have been to the restaurant with has enjoyed their meal and experience. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
We went here on a Sunday morning for brunch on a whim and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food! We had the crabby Benedict which melted in your mouth and the ultimate grilled cheese, which had many different cheeses and caramelized onions! The banana coconut French toast had fresh coconut sprinkled on it and was served with real maple syrup. Did I mention the roesi potatoes ....they are crispy and delicious too! The portions were a good size and service was efficient. We would definitely return and will be returning for dinner as the menu looks yummy with lots of tuna dishes. Sun- Tues you can bring your own wine for a $5 corking fee!
Went to The Buzz for a post-exam celebration, and it could not have been better. Great food, lovely atmosphere, and the service is awesome: Jeannette's lovely smile is as welcoming as you could get. My roasted garlic head with goat's cheese and mango chutney was simply delicious, my bleu steak was just perfect.. And to top it all, fantastic lounge music at JUST the right volume! This is a fantastic spot - go and try it out!
Chose this place from Tripadvisor and also because it offers Wednesday night martini specials which we had at the bar before being seated. All we needed was to see Lamb Shanks on the menu and we were sold, melted in your mouth, salads were also very nice. Staff were very welcoming knowing we were from out of town and made us feel at home. Compliments to this small but excellent establishment.

"Tonight was our first time at your restaurant. The four of us absolutely loved it. Everyone who served us was excellent and always served us with a smile. Not a single negative comment that I can think about. We will definitely go back. Thank you for a great evening."
"The food was surprisingly amazing, and I can honestly say that this place has one of the best brunches in town."

"Why it's great: The Buzz is an ideal place for after-work drinks or pre-show snacks. A luxurious lounge with a friendly feel, the curved high-back banquettes and a modern interior give the place a New York chic. Having a manic Monday? Move that Friday night date to a Monday or Tuesday and save money while you're at it. Corkage fee: $5"
